Walks & exercise checklist
Your dog walking booking is coming up. Use this simple checklist to prepare, stay organized, and help every walk go smoothly.
Meet & Greet
- We will email the pet parent’s address on file. Confirm it with the pet parent before the first walk.
- Review entry and key return instructions.
- Discuss the dog’s routine, behaviour, triggers, and special needs as applicable.
- Ask about preferred routes, walk length, and pace.
- Check the dog’s equipment: leash, harness or collar fit, and ID tags.
- Ask whether treats are allowed and how the dog behaves around other dogs and people.
- Request emergency contact and veterinarian information.
- Ask how often they would like updates and photos. This can be shared through the platform.
- Review household rules, security instructions, and any escape risks.
During the Walk
- Let the pet parent know you have arrived.
- Enter carefully and make sure the dog cannot slip out.
- Check that the harness, collar, and leash are secure before heading out.
- Keep the dog on leash at all times unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- Follow the agreed route, pace, and duration.
- Pick up after the dog and carry waste bags.
- Bring water on warm days and avoid hot pavement.
- Watch for signs of fatigue, overheating, or distress.
- Take clear photos and share updates with the pet parent through Hello Marshy.
After the Walk
- Wipe paws if needed and check for burrs, ticks, or injuries.
- Refresh the dog’s water and give treats only as agreed.
- Make sure the dog is safely secured in the correct area.
- Return keys and household items to their proper places.
- Lock all doors and follow the pet parent’s exit instructions.
- Send an update with photos and any important notes through Hello Marshy.
- Report any health, behavioural, safety, or access concerns immediately.
Hello Marshy Emergency Support
Keep all booking messages and updates on Hello Marshy for support.
Support is available seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. We may be able to assist outside these hours, but after-hours support cannot be guaranteed.
Pet parents should provide their sitter with emergency contact details and clear instructions on what to do in an emergency.
