Every pet sitter on Hello Marshy must complete identity verification before they can accept their first booking. This is not optional. It is a requirement for every sitter on the platform, with no exceptions.
We believe that trust starts with transparency. When you book through Hello Marshy, you can be confident that the person caring for your pet has been identified and reviewed by our team.
Every sitter uploads two photos as part of onboarding: a government-issued photo ID and a selfie holding that ID. Our team manually reviews both before approving the sitter's profile.
Identity verification is free. Sitters pay nothing to be verified.
Sitters on a paid Monthly or Yearly plan additionally complete a criminal record check through Certn (certn.co). The background check is included with the paid plan, with no separate fee, and our team reviews the result before approving the sitter.
Every paid-plan sitter undergoes the following checks through Certn:
The sitter completes their profile and uploads their photo ID and selfie.
Our team reviews the submitted documents. Paid-plan sitters also receive an email link to complete a Certn background check.
Once verified, the sitter's profile appears in search and they can accept bookings.
Every sitter you see on Hello Marshy has had their identity confirmed by our team. You can book with confidence knowing the person caring for your pet is who they say they are.
All verified sitters display a "Verified" badge on their profile. This badge means they have completed identity verification and been reviewed by the Hello Marshy team.
