When you access the Platform, we automatically collect:

  • Device information (browser type, operating system, device identifiers);
  • Log data (IP address, access times, pages viewed, referring URL);
  • Location data (postal code or approximate location based on IP address);
  • Usage data (features used, search queries, interactions with the Platform);
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process transactions and send related information (confirmations, receipts);
  • Connect pet owners with sitters and facilitate bookings;

With other users

When you book a sitter or accept a booking, we share relevant information (name, contact details, pet details, booking information) between the owner and sitter to facilitate the arrangement.

With service providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform:

  • Stripe — payment processing and membership management;
  • Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and real-time messaging;
  • Certn — identity verification and background screening for sitters;
  • Our insurance partner — optional booking insurance for pet owners;
  • Resend — transactional email delivery;
  • Vercel — website hosting and content delivery;
  • PostHog — product analytics and usage tracking (with your consent);
  • Sentry — error monitoring and performance tracking (with your consent);
  • Crisp — live chat and customer support (with your consent).

For legal reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hello Marshy, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

4. Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure database access controls, and regular security assessments. Payment information is processed and stored by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified — the highest level of security certification in the payments industry.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
