Your house sitting stay is coming up. Use this simple checklist to prepare, stay organized, and help everything go smoothly.

Meet & Greet

  • We will email the pet parent’s address on file. Confirm it with the pet parent before the stay.
  • Review entry instructions, keys, codes, and alarm systems.
  • Discuss the pet’s routine, behaviour, feeding, medication, and special needs as applicable.
  • Walk through the home: pet supplies, cleaning products, and where you will sleep.
  • Ask about household duties: mail, plants, garbage day, and any quirks with appliances or utilities.
  • Request emergency contact and veterinarian information.
  • Ask how often they would like updates and photos. This can be shared through the platform.
  • Review household rules, off-limit areas, security instructions, and any escape risks.
  • Ask if they have any final questions or concerns.

During the Stay

  • Let the pet parent know when you have arrived and settled in.
  • Follow the pet’s routine for feeding, medication, walks, and bathroom breaks.
  • Keep the home secure: lock doors and windows and set the alarm as instructed.
  • Keep the home tidy and clean up after yourself and the pet.
  • Complete the agreed household duties, such as mail, plants, and garbage.
  • Spend quality time with the pet and keep their routine as normal as possible.
  • Take clear photos and share updates with the pet parent through Hello Marshy.
  • Report any health, behavioural, safety, or home concerns immediately.

Before You Leave

  • Confirm the pet parent’s return time and coordinate your departure so the pet is not left alone longer than agreed.
  • Tidy the home and leave it as you found it. Take photos if needed.
  • Wash any bedding or towels you used, if agreed.
  • Make sure the pet has fresh water and food and is safely secured in the correct area.
  • Return keys and household items as instructed and lock all doors.
  • Send a final update with photos and any important notes through Hello Marshy.

Support is available seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. We may be able to assist outside these hours, but after-hours support cannot be guaranteed.

Pet parents should provide their sitter with emergency contact details and clear instructions on what to do in an emergency.
