For pet sitters
Doggy daycare checklist
A pet is coming for daycare. Use this simple checklist to prepare, stay organized, and help the day go smoothly.
Meet & greet
- Discuss meet & greet location.
- Discuss the pet’s routine, behaviour, feeding, and special needs as applicable.
- Ask about allergies, fears, triggers, and how the pet gets along with other animals and people.
- Request emergency contact and veterinarian information.
- Ask how often the pet parent would like updates and photos. This can be shared through the platform.
- Confirm what the pet parent will bring: food, treats, leash, or comfort items.
- Pet-proof your home, check for escape risks, and plan where the pet will rest and play.
- If you have other pets at home, make sure the pet parent knows and plan introductions.
- Confirm drop-off and pick-up times.
During the day
- Check that everything you need was dropped off and confirm any feeding instructions.
- Give the pet time to settle in calmly.
- Provide fresh water at all times and feed as directed.
- Supervise play and time with other pets at all times.
- Provide bathroom breaks, exercise, and rest time.
- Monitor behaviour and energy, and report anything unusual right away.
- Take clear photos and share updates with the pet parent through Hello Marshy.
At pick-up
- Return all belongings, food, and supplies.
- Share notes on how the day went: meals, bathroom breaks, play, and behaviour.
- Report any health, behavioural, or safety concerns to the pet parent.
- When appropriate, ask for a review to help build your profile.
